UK Travel Alert: 5 Important Checks for Passport Holders

Kate Donnelly is giving travel advice on TikTok. She wants people to check their passports to avoid problems at the airport.

First, check the expiry date of your passport.

If you are going to Turkey, your passport must be valid for 150 days. Check the rules for the country you are visiting.

Next, check the 10-year rule for Europe. Your passport must be less than 10 years old when you enter the country.

Third, check if you have blank pages in your passport. Some countries are stopping passport stamping, but it's still important.

If you don't have blank pages, the airline might not let you board the plane.

Make sure your passport is in good condition. If it's damaged or hard to read, you might not be able to travel.

Dual nationals need to follow new rules. They need a UK passport or a certificate of entitlement to enter or exit the UK.

It's cheaper for dual nationals to get a UK passport than a certificate of entitlement. This way, they can use both passports when traveling.
