Dem Donor's Taxpayer-Funded Payday Turns into Felony Case, Affects State Politics

Michigan's attorney general announced 16 felony charges against major Democratic donor Fay Beydoun. She allegedly used a $20 million state grant to enrich herself.
State records show Beydoun's company received $10 million on April 1, 2023. The $20 million state grant aimed to attract more business to Michigan. However, Attorney General Dana Nessel alleges Beydoun used the grant for personal enrichment.
Nessel said Beydoun sought and received a $20 million grant, operated a criminal enterprise, and lied about using the funds.
