Pilot with 10,000 flight hours on the one place he refuses to go
Richard Wells has seen it all. In more than two decades as a long-haul commercial pilot, the 54-year-old from Kent logged over 10,000 hours in the cockpit, navigating routes across Europe, Asia and the Americas through mountainous terrain, remote island approaches and fierce tropical storms. Yet there is one destination he has never been willing to fly to — and never would.
