Family of Football Legend John Toshack Speaks Out About His Health
Cameron, who is a football coach in Thailand, recently shared news about his father's dementia diagnosis, which prompted a response from his stepmother, Mai Angulo.
John Toshack, 77, has been dealing with health issues in recent years, including a severe case of pneumonia caused by Covid-19, which led to a stay in intensive care in 2022.
Mai Angulo expressed surprise at Cameron's comments, stating that he had not visited his father in a long time, and that John's condition was being managed with calmness and care.
The couple resides in a farmhouse in Girona, Spain, where John has been trying to recover from the effects of Covid-19, with Mai by his side to support him.
Mai began by stating that John is no longer the strong person he once was, but he is making an effort to improve every day, despite the challenges posed by the aftereffects of the illness.

Mai acknowledged that Covid-19 had a significant impact on John's physical and mental health, resulting in mobility and memory issues, and that his recovery was a difficult and challenging process.
She recalled the tough times they faced when John was sedated in the ICU, and how she spent many days in distress, feeling that not enough people, including family members, were showing support.
However, Mai noted that John has been making progress through rehabilitation, and that every small step he takes is a victory, and that he is now able to live a relatively peaceful life.
John celebrated his 77th birthday recently, and despite having good and bad days, he is able to enjoy the simple things in life, like working in the vegetable garden and spending time outdoors.
Mai emphasized that she is always there to help John, and that they are managing his condition together, with a focus on his well-being and happiness.
Regarding Cameron's comments, Mai stated that she was surprised by his remarks, given that he had not seen his father in two years and only spoke to him occasionally on the phone.
John Toshack is battling dementia, a condition that affects his short-term memory, but he still has vivid memories of his football career and is able to share stories and advice with his son.
Cameron is John's son from a previous marriage to Susan Bann, which ended in divorce in 2013, with Susan citing John's alleged 'unreasonable behaviour' as the reason for the split.
John Toshack had a successful football career, playing for Liverpool and Swansea City, before moving into management, where he coached several top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.
As a player-manager, John led Swansea City to three promotions in four seasons, and later won the La Liga title with Real Madrid in 1990.
He also had two stints as the manager of the Wales national team, helping to develop the skills of players like Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, and Joe Allen during his second spell in charge.
John Toshack was honored by Real Sociedad last year, receiving the Diamond and Gold badge, the highest accolade the club can bestow, in recognition of his contributions to the team.
His managerial career spanned 40 years, with 14 different roles, before he retired in 2018, following a brief stint in charge of the Iranian side Tractor.
Last year, John made a rare public appearance, receiving the Diamond and Gold badge from his former club Real Sociedad, a testament to his enduring legacy in the football world.
Cameron shared his experiences of talking to his father, who, despite struggling with short-term memory, can still recall details of his football career with remarkable clarity.
