Important Papers for Learner Drivers

Learner drivers must bring key papers to their test.
There are two main papers to bring: a UK driving licence and a theory test pass certificate. If using your own car, ensure it meets the rules. If using an instructor's car, they will check it.
If you don't bring the right papers, your test will be cancelled and you won't get a refund.
If you lost your theory test certificate, don't worry. Your examiner will check you passed before the test starts. You don't need a new certificate.
UK drivers may need to tell the DVLA about health issues.
Make sure you look like your driving licence photo. If you've had a big change, update your photo.
You don't need to change your photo if you've made small changes like dyeing your hair.
If you lose your licence, apply for a new one with plenty of time. It can take up to 15 days to arrive. You need a new licence before your test.
If you don't have your licence in time, change your test date.
If you don't have a photocard licence, bring a passport and paper licence.
Drivers need to bring certain papers to get their licence.
Remember to apply for your full licence within 2 years of passing your test.
You can drive as soon as you pass. You don't need to wait for your full licence. If it doesn't arrive within 3 weeks, contact the DVLA.
