New Rules for UK Travelers to Spain

UK passport holders can visit the Schengen area for up to 90 days in 180 days.
When entering the Schengen area, most UK travelers must scan their passport, have a photo taken, and give four fingerprints. This record is valid for three years or until the passport expires.
The Schengen area includes many countries like Spain, France, and Germany.
Not all UK travelers need to give fingerprints when they arrive.
Children under 12 do not need fingerprints, but all travelers will have a photo taken and a digital record made.
Some UK travelers may not need to use the new system if they have a different passport, like an Irish one.
Over 300,000 UK residents have both UK and Irish passports, which has increased since Brexit.
