I went back home to a $300-a-month job after studying in Singapore and Taiwan

I am 29 years old. I studied and worked abroad from 2014 to 2019. I studied three hours a day and worked 12 hours a day in Taiwan. I worked as a hotel receptionist.

I returned to Vietnam and worked as a receptionist and housekeeper at a hotel. I earned VND8 million a month and worked for over a year.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked as a freelancer and earned VND12 million a month. I worked night shifts five days a week for my US clients.

After six months, I changed jobs for my health and career. I worked as a senior associate and earned VND18 million a month. Now I am a project manager and earn $1,700 a month.

A degree from abroad does not guarantee a good job at home.

I also thought about investing. I saved money and invested in crypto and funds, which gave me a passive income.

I share my story to show that a foreign degree does not guarantee success. What matters is having the right mindset and building a career.

If you are proactive and can prove yourself, opportunities will come. It is good to start building wealth early, as small savings can become meaningful over time.
