1:02In the past, when we were still using

1:04paper records, it was very

1:06time-consuming to search for files and

1:08quite difficult to ensure complete and

1:10accurate documentation. But now, with

1:12electronic medical records,

1:14record-keeping has become more

1:16convenient and accurate, and search for

1:18patient files is also much easier.

1:22For health care facilities, the

1:24synchronized rollout of electronic

1:26medical records and information systems

1:28has helped standardize clinical

1:30workflows, significantly reduce

1:32paperwork, cut operating costs, and

1:35improve management efficiency.

1:40In digital health care, many hospitals

1:42in Vietnam have already implemented

1:44electronic medical records, but the

1:46problem is a lack of standardization.

1:48Once we achieve that standardization,

1:50different hospital systems drawing from

1:52a common data source will give us a

1:54unified, interoperable health data

1:56system that truly makes a difference.

2:01Beyond records, hospitals in Ho Chi Minh

2:03City are also equipping themselves with

2:05the latest generation of medical

2:06devices, pushing the boundaries of

2:09medical standards within the region.

2:12Our facility has been equipped with the

2:15latest ultrasound machines featuring 3D

2:17to 4D imaging and AI integration, the

2:20newest models available this year, which

2:22allows us to detect all fetal

2:24abnormalities during pregnancy.

2:27Vietnam's Resolution 72 on medical

2:30innovation and advancement underscores

2:32the creation of interconnected data

2:35ecosystems, interoperability across

2:38sectors, and the adoption of global

2:40practices to modernize local health care

3:09Our reporter sat down with his deputy

3:11director, Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Cam Hoang, to

3:14find out how hospital founded seven

3:16decades ago is now setting the standard

3:19for robotic and minimally invasive

3:21procedures across the region.

3:28Binh Dan Hospital has performed nearly

3:311,100 surgeries for international

3:33patients from 26 countries over the past

3:363 years. So, in your view, what factors

3:38have enabled the hospital to achieve

3:41such high quality and international

3:43reputation?

3:44Uh established in 1954,

3:47Binh Dan Hospital has been the cradle of

3:50surgery, Ho Chi Minh City, and the

3:52southern part of Vietnam for nearly

3:55seven decades. The hospital actively

3:58promotes strategic collaboration with

4:01medical society, medical university, and

4:05leading hospitals in developed countries

4:07such as the United States and the

4:10European countries.

4:12In line with Ho Chi Minh City's

4:14development orientation to become an

4:16ASEAN regional healthcare hub

4:19specializing in high-tech medicine,

4:22Binh Dan Hospital is now positioned as a

4:26leading center for general surgery,

4:29thoracic vascular surgery, and urology.

4:33Since 2019,

4:35Binh Dan Hospital was recognized and

4:37selected by the Da Vinci company, USA,

4:41as the first robotic surgeon training

4:43facility in Vietnam.

4:46This is a significant achievement

4:48affirming the hospital's professional

4:51capacity and reputation in high-tech

4:53surgery.

4:55In this role, the hospital has certified

4:5823 robotic surgeons, including 10

5:01general surgery surgeon and 13 urology

5:05surgeon,

5:06along with 13 professional scrub nurses.

5:09The hospital regularly sends doctors

5:11abroad for demonstration surgeries and

5:14technique transfer to countries like

5:16India, Thailand, and Malaysia, while

5:18also hosting international doctors for

5:20training.
