Gardeners should do one important task to have more roses in summer

Roses are beautiful and can make any garden look nice. They will start to bloom soon, but you can help them have more flowers by doing some simple tasks now.
To have more roses in summer, take care of your garden now. It's easy, says gardening expert Michael Griffiths.
Feed your roses correctly to give them energy to produce flowers. Michael shared his expert tips in a video.
Clear weeds and debris from the soil before feeding your roses.
Michael said: 'Now is the time to feed your roses if you want many flowers this year.'
Clean up your flower beds and make sure the base of the rose plants is clear.
Follow the instructions to give your roses the right amount of feed. The Royal Horticultural Society says roses need food to flower and grow well.
For roses in borders, feed them twice a year: in March or April and in mid-summer.
Sprinkle fertiliser on the soil around the plant and then add mulch.
Roses in containers need more food than those in borders. Feed them every two weeks from mid-spring to late summer.
Use a general-purpose fertiliser until the roses start to flower, then switch to a high-potash fertiliser.
After feeding your roses, gently mix the soil and give it a little water.
If it's not going to rain soon, water the soil lightly.
The Royal Horticultural Society says to water the soil around the base of the plant, not the leaves or flowers.
