A 32-year-old apartment in Singapore sells for over $1 million

A 144-square-meter apartment at 46 Bendemeer Road was sold last week. It broke the previous record of SGD1.32 million set in August 2024.

The record-breaking apartment is in a development near Bendemeer Road and Serangoon Road. Some blocks face the Kallang River.

The development has five blocks with different types of apartments.

There are 64 executive apartments in Block 46. They were finished in 1994 and have about 67 years left on their leases.

Resale prices have been going up in Singapore, partly because of delays in building new homes during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In February, a small apartment in a good area was sold for SGD695,000, a record for its type.

In April, a four-room apartment in Bedok was sold for SGD1.12 million, a record price.
