A Man Did Plastic Surgery On Himself For A Shocking Reason

A man from Japan made news for doing plastic surgery on himself.

Tatsuya Ichihashi was a criminal who killed and hurt a 22-year-old English teacher named Lindsay Ann Hawker. Her body was found in a bathtub with sand on the balcony of his apartment in Tokyo.

The police looked for him everywhere and offered a big reward. They finally caught him in 2009. While in jail, Ichihashi wrote a book about his life after the crime. He said he became obsessed with changing his looks to avoid being caught.

Ichihashi started changing his face after the police almost caught him at his apartment. He tried to make his nose smaller by tying a thread around it.

He also tried to make his lip thinner by cutting it. He did this in a public bathroom. Ichihashi even removed moles from his face to change his appearance.

For two and a half years, Ichihashi did many things to change his face. He wore a mask to hide the scars, which is common in Japan during spring.

The police caught him in 2009. The court gave him life in prison for killing Hawker. They didn't give him the death penalty because he was young and had no past crimes.
