Air Travel Demand Remains Steady During Holidays

Despite changes in fuel prices due to Middle East tensions, government policies helped keep air travel stable. This meant there were no big problems with ticket availability.

The two holidays were close together, so travelers could plan better. This helped spread out demand and reduced pressure on peak days.

In the early holiday days, booking rates from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were low, with many seats available.

On the main route between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, only 20-40% of seats were filled.

Some routes to smaller tourist spots were very full, with over 90% of seats taken. These included flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Tuy Hoa and from Hanoi to Tuy Hoa.

As the holiday ended, more people traveled back to big cities, especially Ho Chi Minh City. However, most flights into Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were not fully booked.

Early in the holiday, economy tickets from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City cost around VND3.6-4.2 million.

Different airlines had different prices, but they were all similar. Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways were the most expensive.

These prices were like those during the Lunar New Year and were 8-10% higher than last year due to higher costs.

Before the holiday, prices were also high. On April 29, tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang cost VND2.7-3.2 million on Vietnam Airlines.

From Hanoi to Da Nang, tickets cost VND2.6-3.8 million on Vietnam Airlines and less on other airlines.

On longer flights, like from Hanoi to Phu Quoc, prices were higher. Vietnam Airlines charged around VND4.8 million, while Vietjet Air was cheaper.

As the holiday ended, ticket prices rose. On May 3, flights from Cam Ranh to Hanoi were expensive, with many seats sold out.

Similarly, flights from Cam Ranh to Ho Chi Minh City and from Phu Quoc to Hanoi were expensive, with many seats sold out.
