Thailand Launches App to Reduce Immigration Wait Times

Thailand will launch a new app on October 1. It is called the Thailand Immigration Management System.

The new system will process people faster. It will not make border security weaker.

Thailand gets between 30 and 33 million visitors each year. All visitors must give personal and travel information when they arrive.

Thailand has a website for arrivals. Over 10 million people have used it since 2025.

Some visitors are unhappy. They have to fill out 20 fields every time they visit.

The new app will make things easier. It will scan passports and get the information needed. Users only need to register once.

Tourists will not need to show a QR code. The data will be in the system and officers can see it when they scan the passport.

The app can be downloaded now. It is on Apple and Android stores and supports many languages.

Thailand expects 33.5 million tourists this year. This is more than last year. The country is the second largest economy in Southeast Asia.
