evolved a dastardly tactic.
0:12With the muzzle of a bear,
the webbed feet of an otter,
0:22and a strange shaggy
tail, it's easy to think
0:28this isn't a dog at all.
0:32But this unusual canine
is a jungle specialist,
0:47Although, they can look
more like a werewolf.
0:56Bush dogs live in gnarly
gangs of up to 12 members.
1:02And they keep in touch with each
other with squeaks and yelps.
1:12But it's the way
they catch their prey
1:15that's really unique.
1:19Because bush dogs can
hunt in the water.
1:27They're after elusive jungle
rodents, like agoutis.
1:38They chase them into deep pools.
1:45Having webbed feet means bush
dogs are strong swimmers.
1:55But they can also dive
underwater, staying submerged
2:04for more than 30 seconds.
2:10With their prey
out of their depth,
2:14the bush dogs finish them off.
2:22Once a bush dog makes a
kill, the gang get together
2:27to share in the spoils.
