Ben Mack is one of 25 runners in the 231km Sonder Monster race.
He wants to finish the race, which would be amazing for him.
Last year, Ben Mack did not finish the race.
He runs to deal with pain.
Ben Mack started running after his son died in 2017.
At first, he drank and did not take care of himself.
Then he realized he was not honoring his son's memory.
Ben Mack created Team Irrkerlantye for his son.
The team is for Indigenous ultramarathon runners from Central Australia.
Ben Mack runs for all children who died too soon.
He runs for parents who are still in pain.
Team Irrkerlantye shows people they can do amazing things.
This event can bring out the best in people.
