Travel Expert Warns to 'Stand By' as UK Eases Gulf Travel Warnings

Airlines like Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways will likely start a big marketing campaign to get people to travel through their hubs and take summer holidays. It is very hot in the region, with temperatures often above 40°C.

Many people travel to the Gulf states for holidays, and others use them as a stopover for trips to Asia and Australia. The tourism industry was severely affected when the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran.

The UK government's decision means tourists can now travel without risking their travel insurance. However, flights may not restart immediately.

Virgin Atlantic stopped flights to the region and will not restart them until winter 2027.

British Airways will not restart flights to the UAE until October 2026, while Emirates has continued to operate throughout the conflict.
