0:00Improvisation to me is something that
0:02some people are very fearful of when
0:04they think about going up and just
0:06speaking on the fly, but in actuality,
0:08you're doing it all the time. Uh, a
0:10conversation that you're having with a
0:12friend is improvisation. Uh, unless it's
0:14scripted, and that would be a weird
0:15friendship, but
0:17I suppose those do exist. So, I've been
0:19dealing with improvisation all of my
0:21life. Uh, I it's hard for me to write
0:23things down. Ted was so gracious to
0:26allow me to come up here on the stage
0:27when they keep asking uh can we see that
0:30script and it's like I'm sorry I don't I
0:32don't have that. Um but after I perform
0:35it then then you'll have that. Um
0:39so I'd like to show you an element of
0:41improvisation and I'm going to start by
0:44doing something like this.
0:52Now, because this is looping, it gives
0:54me time to think about what I want to do
0:55next. So, I think I'll probably add, who
0:58knows, maybe a basselike thing. So,
1:00>> let's see if I can remember what a bass
1:02looks like. Okay, now that'll tell me
1:03what it sounds like.
1:11Now, maybe I'd like to subdivide.
1:20and then I might just stop. So
1:23improvisation is something that I love
1:25very much because it is the center of
1:28existence to me and for me uh that
1:32allows me to reformat any situation at
1:34any given time because I do think about
1:36situations where you might feel
1:38imprisoned uh in some way. You always
1:41have your mind and you can always
1:42recontextualize anything at any given
