By using the Service, you agree with 4English's collection, use, and sharing of your personal information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. Please note that 4English is constantly testing and improving our product features. Any features discussed in this Privacy Policy may not be available to all users or in all jurisdictions.
When you use the Service, 4English may collect the following personal information about you.
To register for a 4English account, you may provide us with your age and email address. In some countries, you may also provide us with your phone number.
You may also register for a 4English account using certain social logins, such as Google and Facebook. If you register for 4English using a social login, 4English may receive information about you from your social login provider, including your email address and contacts.
You can manage your 4English account and social logins from your settings.
After you register for your 4English account, a profile page will be created for you (“Profile”). Your Profile will be populated by information you submit, such as your name, username, bio, and profile picture (“User-Generated Content”). Your age, phone number, and email address are not included in your public Profile and are not considered User-Generated Content under this Privacy Policy. Other 4English users may be able to search for your Profile using your name, username, email address, or phone number.
Your Profile will also include information about your learning progress, such as the languages you are learning, your learning statistics, and your achievements. Moreover, your Profile will show a list of your followers and other users you follow.
By default, your Profile is public, and visible to other 4English users and anyone else on the Internet. In addition, your User-Generated Content may be publicly visible. If your Profile is public, third-party websites or web scrapers may be able to read, collect, and use your public information for their own purposes. However, you can set your Profile to private in your settings.
You may be able to submit comments that will supplement other users' Profiles and other users may be able to submit comments that will supplement your Profile. Any comments you submit are considered User-Generated Content under this Privacy Policy. You can delete comments you submit or comments that other users submit to your Profile.
4English may scan or review any User-Generated Content, or share your User-Generated Content with a third-party content moderation service provider, to ensure compliance with our Terms and Conditions of Service. 4English may restrict or delete User-Generated Content if it violates the Acceptable Use guidelines in our Terms of Service or for any other reason.
If you subscribe to 4English PRO or 4English Master, you may interact with Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) features, including AI Explanation (which provides AI-powered feedback and explanations on your answers) and AI Conversation Practice (which allows you to send text or audio messages to an AI chat companion in an open-ended conversational format).
When you interact with AI features, your inputs may be processed through our servers and by third-party AI service providers (such as OpenAI), which may retain a copy of your text or audio for their own purposes. Please do not submit any personal or confidential information when using AI features.
Some activities involve you speaking into the 4English app. To recognize speech, your audio may be sent to a third-party provider. Additionally, 4English may collect and analyze your speech to help us understand the effectiveness of our lessons and to improve the product. You may skip speaking activities.

You may choose not to share your audio with us for product improvement purposes in your settings. Any audio you agree to send to 4English is anonymized when it reaches our servers to ensure that no trace of your personal information remains attached to the audio.
When you use the Service, we may generate data about your use of the Service, which may include your browser and device data, log data, device ID, and IP address. We will also generate data regarding your engagement in educational activities on the Service.
We may recommend other 4English users for you to follow, and for other users to follow you, based on a shared IP address, such as other users on the same WiFi network. We may also use your IP address to display a location on your profile, which you may disable at any time. We will retain your IP address for no more than thirty (30) days, unless exceptional circumstances require longer retention.
When you use 4English in our app or on our website, we collect analytics data through Google Analytics 4, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. These services capture aggregated usage data (clicks, screen views, navigation, session duration, feature usage), technical specifications (browser, device type, operating system, viewfinder size, IP address), and crash diagnostics to help us improve the 4English experience. These analytics services do not record your username, profile picture, email address, profile bio, or password. Analytics are disabled for known Child Users. 4English uses YouTube API Services to display educational video content and transcripts within the app. By using features that rely on YouTube content, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You may review and control Google account permissions at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. 4English does not collect or store user authentication data from YouTube.
In the free version of the Service, 4English displays advertisements through Google AdMob, which may use mediated advertising networks such as Meta Audience Network. We also use advertising and marketing measurement tools from Meta (Facebook) and TikTok, which may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID) and app activity to measure advertising and marketing performance. These partners may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage data to serve and measure advertisements. On iOS, we request your permission through App Tracking Transparency before using your device's advertising identifier for these purposes; in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we present consent options through Google's User Messaging Platform. You may opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (Apple iOS Advertising ID / Google Android Advertising ID). A paid 4English PRO or Master subscription removes advertisements displayed by 4English. When you access the 4English website, we store certain data from your browser using cookies. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to data about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. However, cookies may be necessary to provide you with certain features available on the website (e.g., customized information).

4English will process your personal information to provide and improve the Service. For example, we will use the information you provide to maintain your Profile and learning progress, display your Profile to other users (unless you make it private), personalize learning content, detect and fix bugs, perform research, and provide customer service to you.

4English will generally retain your personal information until your account is deleted. However, 4English may retain certain information longer if necessary to provide our Service, defend our legitimate interests or those of third parties, comply with legal requirements, resolve or defend ourselves in disputes, investigate misuse or disruption of the Service, or perform agreements. We may also retain anonymous data indefinitely.

4English is based in Vietnam and processes data in Vietnam, which may not provide equivalent levels of data protection as your home jurisdiction. 4English may transfer the data of users outside Vietnam to Vietnam.
4English has responsibility for the processing of personal information it receives under the Decree 13 Principles and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. 4English shall remain liable under the Decree 13 Principles if its agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the Decree 13 Principles, unless 4English proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has jurisdiction over 4English's compliance with the Decree 13 Principles. 4English may disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by Vietnamese authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
In the event that 4English undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets, your Personal Information may be transferred to another entity as part of that transaction. Such transfers are a normal part of business operations and will only occur under the following conditions: the new owner or acquiring company will be required to comply with this Privacy Policy, or to provide a privacy policy with substantially the same level of protection for your Personal Information. You may delete your 4English account and associated personal data at any time through the in-app Delete Account function (Settings > Account > Delete). Upon deletion, your data is removed from active systems immediately and cannot be recovered. Sufficient warning is given before data is permanently deleted. Some data may remain in backup files for up to 90 days, after which it is permanently deleted as part of our regular backup rotation. We may retain certain anonymized or aggregated data, as well as information required by law (such as transaction records for tax purposes), after account deletion.
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, and we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive data, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
