Trust Is a Big Challenge in Modern Cybersecurity

The National Cybersecurity Association and partners held BSides Hanoi 2026 in Hanoi on August 5 to explore the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence in digital security.
The event was a forum where experts shared studies and discussed solutions to cybersecurity challenges.
VSEC Chairman Truong Duc Luong said BSides Hanoi 2026 was a platform to connect Vietnam's cybersecurity community with international networks. It encouraged knowledge sharing and contributed to the development of the cybersecurity ecosystem.
Presentations at BSides Hanoi 2026 were selected and reviewed by a technical committee of experts from several countries.
Vu Duy Hien stressed that building a safe cyberspace in Vietnam requires efforts from the community, experts, and technology businesses.
The conference covered topics like blockchain security, malware analysis, and AI applications in cybersecurity.
Studies showed that AI is changing the balance between attackers and defenders. Attackers are using AI to increase the speed and sophistication of their campaigns. The competition is about who can use AI more effectively.
Trust is becoming a big challenge in modern cybersecurity as AI plays a bigger role in generating data and supporting decision-making. The presentations highlighted the need to protect technical infrastructure and ensure data authenticity.
BSides Hanoi 2026 reaffirmed that technology cannot replace humans in assessing and making decisions.
BSides is a non-profit community-driven cybersecurity event series founded in Las Vegas in 2009. It has recorded over 1,300 events in 300 cities across 73 countries and promotes an open space for cybersecurity knowledge sharing.
