Highway in Summerland, B.C. Opens with Limited Hours
The main road in Summerland, B.C. is open again for a short time. People can see some of the damage from a big fire that made thousands leave the city last weekend.
The hills are still black from the fire and have small fires in some areas. A local hotel was destroyed when the fire jumped the road.
All exits are blocked, and security guards are stopping people from getting off the road.
Signs show where people with permits can turn to get into areas that were empty because of the fire.
The fire is still not under control and has grown to over 190 square kilometers.
This fire is one of four big fires in the area. The others are near Clinton, B.C. and Boston Bar.
