0:23Kalanikov Yuri, a leading opthalmology

0:25specialist from Russia, published the

0:28results of their collaborative research

0:30on the Colony of Deng technique for

0:33posterior endothelial keratlasty or PDK.

0:40The device that Dr. Hang an and I

0:42developed is an optimized solution for

0:45preparing graph tissue for PDK coral

0:48transplantation. Modern medicine has

0:50shown that transplanting the entire

0:52cornea is no longer appropriate in many

0:55cases. Instead, only the damaged layer

0:57of tissue needs to be replaced. This

1:00approach significantly reduces the risk

1:02of graft rejection, increases tissue

1:05adhesion, and in many cases can almost

1:07completely eliminate the possibility of

1:09incompatibility.

1:11Based on this principle, we developed a

1:13device that enables the precise

1:15separation of the endothelial layer of

1:17the cornea, ensuring safety and an

1:20optimal graph size.

1:23The invention comprises a device for

1:26separating and preserving corneal

1:28tissue. Featuring an improved mechanism,

1:31it increases the success rate of corial

1:34layer separation to more than 95%.

1:37Significantly higher than the

1:38approximately 36.6 6% achieved with

1:42previous techniques.

1:45The device helps reduce the risk of

1:47endothelial cell damage, [music]

1:49minimize graft failure, and optimize the

1:51use of donated corneas, which remain in

1:54critically short supply.

1:57What began as an idea in 2019 took

2:00nearly seven years of persistent testing

2:03and refinement before the two doctors

2:05completed the invention and put it into
