I'm a baker and I know the secret to making great scones

Scones are nice and easy to make. You can add cheese or keep them plain and add jam and cream.
As a baker, I've made many scones and tried different recipes. Making scones is not hard, but getting them to rise can take time.
I found a great recipe a few years ago and I still use it today.
This recipe includes a special ingredient that makes the scones taste better.
I add sultanas to my scones.
First, heat the oven to 220°C. Then mix flour, baking powder, and a little salt in a bowl.
Next, add cold butter and mix until it looks like breadcrumbs. This takes time, but it's important.
Add sugar, then set the bowl aside. Warm the milk and add lemon juice and vanilla if you like.
Pour the milk mix into the flour mix and make a dough. The lemon juice helps the scones rise.
The baking powder and lemon juice help the scones rise perfectly.
Dust the work surface with flour and turn out the dough. Knead it until it's smooth.
I like sultanas in my scones, so I add them now. If you don't like sultanas, skip this step.
Use a 5cm cutter to cut out the scones. Use all the dough.
The scones are small but rise well.
Put the scones on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and bake for 10 minutes.
There's nothing like eating warm scones from the oven with jam and cream.
