The scam started on July 8 when the scammers emailed and called the victim, pretending to be federal agents.
The scammers told the victim that his money was in danger and that he needed to buy gold bars to keep it safe.
The victim tried to buy the gold bars, but the gold dealer realized it was a scam and warned him.
The FBI is also looking for someone who took $5 million from a kids' meal program.
The FBI and the police department worked together to investigate the scam targeting the 85-year-old man.

The gold dealer then told the police and the FBI about the scam.
