Latin America's UNESCO Sites Are in Danger
In Peru, many people visit the old Inca city of Machu Picchu every year. This is causing damage to the stones and the environment. The weather is also getting worse, and there are problems with waste. To help, the government has a plan to limit the number of visitors and improve waste treatment. In Honduras, the Rio Plátano Biosphere Reserve is in danger because of illegal activities like cattle farming and logging. This is hurting the animals, the environment, and the local people.
UNESCO says we need to work together to save these special places. We need more money and stronger rules to protect them.
