More than a year ago, doctors told him he has stage‑4 colon cancer that has spread to his liver. He kept the news private at first because he did not want to worry others.

On 4 September, he told CNA Lifestyle and posted on Instagram that he is fighting the disease. He said the cancer had spread aggressively to his liver, so he thought people should know.

He said the past year has been hard, with good days and bad days, but he wants to stay strong and keep working.

He announced an upcoming podcast called “FINAL APPLAUSE” where he will talk about his experience with the illness.

After his announcement, many fans and public figures sent him well‑wishes, including local celebrities and a Member of Parliament.

The couple also moved their Hai Ge Ji restaurant to a new location on Bussorah Street, and they plan to keep serving customers.
