Durian Prices Go Up as China Buys More

Traders are buying high-quality durians for VND75,000-80,000 per kilogram. This is an 8% increase in one week. They buy from orchards.

The price of Ri6 durian has also gone up to VND55,000-58,000 per kilogram.

Earlier this month, prices were 20-30% lower than last year. Monthong durians were VND46,000-68,000 and Ri6 were VND28,000-38,000.

Trung, a durian trader, says traders are buying more to meet the rising demand.

Good durians are sold as soon as they are available.

Vietnam exported $4.76 billion in fruits and vegetables in seven months. This is 23% more than last year. In July, exports rose 38% to $1.06 billion. Vietnam exports a lot of fruits and vegetables.
