Vietnam Helps EL AL Airlines Start Direct Flights to Hanoi

On May 12, the embassy and EL AL Airlines met to discuss how to start direct flights between Israel and Vietnam.
EL AL Airlines wants to fly to Hanoi because Vietnam is a big market with a lot of potential. The airline asked the embassy for help to make this happen.
The first flight is planned for October 24, 2026, and will go from Tel Aviv to Hanoi three times a week. The airline may add more flights later.
The Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in Israel is happy to help EL AL Airlines start its new route to Vietnam.
Vietnam is becoming a popular place for investors, businesses, and tourists from Israel. A new trade agreement has also helped increase trade between the two countries.
The embassy is helping the airline with rules and regulations, such as getting permits and visas for the flight crew.
The embassy also helped another airline, Arkia, start direct flights to Hanoi in January 2026, and is now helping it start flights to Ho Chi Minh City.
