PSG Leader Faces Backlash Over Hillsborough Comments
The French club had asked for their game against Lens to be rescheduled, citing the impact of the Hillsborough anniversary on their Champions League quarter-final ties against Liverpool.
The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) ultimately approved the request, giving PSG a week's break between their Champions League matches.
Campos argued that postponing the match would be beneficial for French football, as PSG and Strasbourg are the only two French teams still competing in UEFA competitions.
Initially, the team had wanted to play their match on April 15, but Campos claimed that Liverpool could not play on that date due to the Hillsborough anniversary.
In an interview with French radio station RMC, Campos explained that the team had to respect Liverpool's history and the significance of the date.
He stated that the decision to postpone the match was made after careful consideration of the advantages and disadvantages for both PSG and French football.
The Hillsborough disaster, which occurred in 1989, resulted in the unlawful killing of 97 Liverpool supporters, and the anniversary is still observed by the club today.
As a result of the postponement, the two matches will now take place on April 8 and April 14.
Liverpool has been contacted for a response to Campos' comments, but so far, no official statement has been made.
The Anfield stadium pays tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster every year on the anniversary of the tragedy.
However, some Liverpool fans have taken to social media to express their outrage and disappointment at Campos' remarks.
One fan accused Campos of using the Hillsborough disaster as an excuse to rearrange the Ligue 1 fixture, and called for respect for the club's history.
The same fan also pointed out that Liverpool is scheduled to play against Fulham in the Premier League on April 11, the same day that PSG's match with Lens was originally supposed to take place.
Other fans have also weighed in on the issue, with some calling Campos' comments 'astonishing' and 'disgusting'.

It's worth noting that Liverpool has not played a match on April 15 since the Hillsborough disaster, out of respect for the victims and their families.
In 2012, former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish addressed the issue, stating that the team would not play on April 15, as it was not a suitable date for the club.
Dalglish's comments were made during his second spell as manager, when the team was scheduled to play an FA Cup semi-final against Everton over the weekend of April 14 and 15.
