Full Moon: The whole Moon is lit and we can see it all.
Waning Gibbous: The Moon is losing light on the right side.
Third Quarter: The other half of the Moon is lit, on the left side.
Waning Crescent: A small part of the Moon is lit on the left side before it goes dark.
