Get £200 from Santander with a Quick Account Switch

Santander has announced the criteria for customers to receive a free £200 payout, as seen in the latest update from the bank.

For a limited time, Santander is providing eligible customers with £200 at no cost, but interested individuals must act swiftly to claim the offer before it expires.

The bank's official website emphasizes the ease of switching current accounts and the rewards that come with it, stating that customers can change their accounts and claim the incentive by March 31, after which the offer is set to end.

To be eligible for the £200 payout, customers must open a qualifying current account with Santander and use the Current Account Switch Service to complete the switch within 60 days, ensuring their details match those on file with their previous bank and depositing a minimum of £1,500 while maintaining two active household Direct Debits.

Examples of household Direct Debits include payments for mobile and landline bills, water and energy charges, television subscriptions, and internet packages, but this offer does not apply to all individuals.

According to Santander, customers who had a current account with the bank as of January 1, 2025, or those who have previously received a switcher incentive are not eligible for this offer, which will be paid out 90 days after the switch is initiated if all conditions are met.

Santander's current account options include the Everyday Current Account, which offers an optional overdraft and fee-free use of Santander ATMs abroad without a monthly fee, as well as the Edge current account, which carries a £3 monthly fee but provides up to £10 in cashback on certain household bills and exclusive savings rates.

The Edge current account requires a minimum monthly deposit of £500 and two active Direct Debits, and while other accounts with higher monthly fees are available, they may offer additional benefits and greater cashback potential.

These alternative accounts may be worth considering for individuals seeking more comprehensive benefits, despite the higher fees associated with them.
