Singapore Business Founder Charged with Cheating

Pang Gek Teng, a 37-year-old from Singapore, was charged with cheating a woman out of $313,000. She also faces other charges.

Pang allegedly pretended to be two people to cheat the woman. She told the woman that a private investigator saw her husband at a bank.

Pang said the money was at risk and should be transferred for safekeeping.

Pang allegedly broke trust with over $240,000 while working at Surrey Hills Holdings.

She is also accused of trying to cheat another woman.

Pang allegedly said a real estate company placed big orders with Surrey Hills Holdings.

She is accused of forgery and cheating a woman out of $20,000.

Pang allegedly cheated a third woman by pretending to be a CEO.

Pang's case will be in court on July 10. She could be jailed for up to 10 years for each charge.

Surrey Hills Holdings fired Pang after finding out about financial misconduct.

Pang studied management and marketing at PSB Academy in Singapore.

She worked at a bank and tried other businesses, but they failed.

Pang started Surrey Hills Grocer with a $400,000 investment. The business opened in Joo Koon.

Pang said her business made $8 million in sales in 2023. She found a way to make it happen despite challenges.
