A star from Brookside is making a comeback with a new role.

Jennifer Ellison is back on TV after 10 years with a new show called G'wed. She was famous for playing Emily Shadwick in Brookside 28 years ago.

The actress, 43, was a main character in Brookside until her character died in 2003.

Now, Jennifer is back as Anna, the mother of Aimee Morris, in a popular Liverpool comedy on ITV.

Jennifer has changed her hair from blonde to red for her new role.

Jennifer was on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.

After her TV return, Jennifer was on Good Morning Britain with Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh.

The actress talked about why she was away from TV for so long. She said she lacked confidence and was focused on raising her three children.

Jennifer said she didn't have confidence and was busy with her children, which made her gain weight and not take care of herself.

The conversation turned to Jennifer's health, and she talked about her sugar addiction. She used to drink six to seven cans of cola every day.

Jennifer looks different in her new TV role.

Ranvir asked Jennifer about her sugar addiction, and Jennifer said she didn't realize how much sugar she was drinking until she counted her cola cans.

Jennifer said she drank cola for energy to get through the day.

Ranvir asked if Jennifer was drinking instead of eating, and Jennifer said yes, she was drinking a lot of fizzy drinks.

Jennifer was surprised by how much sugar she was drinking and said she's lucky to still have teeth.

Jennifer said people don't realize how addictive sugar is and that there's not enough education about it.

Good Morning Britain is on ITV1 and ITVX from 6am on weekdays, and G'wed season three is available on ITVX.
