NASA announced three new Moon missions on Tuesday. These missions are part of a plan to establish a permanent US presence on the Moon by the end of 2026.

The second mission, Moon Base II, will send a lander to the lunar surface with over 500 kilograms of cargo, including a rover.

Isaacman is overseeing the demolition of old testing facilities to modernize NASA's infrastructure.

The third mission, Moon Base III, will study mysterious lunar swirls and carry payloads from other space agencies.

Both Moon Base II and III are set to launch before the end of 2026.

These three missions are the first of many planned for this year as NASA builds towards a sustained lunar presence.

Isaacman said the US will beat China to the Moon.

The first phase of the Moon Base effort includes 25 launches, 21 landings, and four metric tons of cargo.

Isaacman said NASA is taking an iterative approach, using repeated missions and partnerships to test technologies.
