Rose just rinsed the tops of her bananas under running water, instead of using traps or other methods.

Rose said most fruit flies are around the top of the banana stem, where eggs are laid. She rinsed them with cold water and scrubbed the stems with a sponge or paper towel.

After rinsing, Rose dried the bananas really well, especially the top part, and hung them to dry.

Rose tried this trick and found that three days later, her kitchen had no fruit flies, so it worked to remove the eggs.
