Water plants at specific times to prevent water from evaporating. Water between 7am and 9am or from 9pm onwards.

The ground and air are cooler at these times, so water won't evaporate, and your lawn will stay hydrated.

Make sure plants are well watered, says Ish. If a plant is struggling, give it a hydration boost.

If a plant is struggling, water it during the day.

Ish said, 'Don't worry about burning plants with water. Apply water to the soil, and they'll thrive.'

If possible, move potted plants into the shade to retain soil moisture.

Place light-colored gravel over the soil to reflect the sun's light and prevent evaporation. Set up a shade screen in the garden.

Find a shade screen at a DIY store or use a white sheet as a budget-friendly alternative to provide shade for plants.

Group plants together in one space to keep them well-watered and protected from sunshine.

Water fixed plants in the morning, and they'll be fine. You can also move potted plants back to their original place after the heatwave.
