FIA Announces New F1 Rule Changes

The FIA has made a big announcement about changes in F1.

The FIA statement said: 'We, the teams, and the power unit makers have agreed on a package of changes to the F1 rules for 2027 and 2028. We had talks since the start of the 2026 season because of concerns about energy management.

The changes aim to fix issues with energy management and make qualifying more exciting without affecting the good racing.

The package will change the mix of combustion and electric power over the 2027 and 2028 seasons. It includes changes to the engine output, fuel flow, and energy recovery system, and gives more freedom in energy management.

There was hope that the changes would start in 2027, but some power unit makers did not agree. So, a compromise was reached to introduce the changes gradually.
