Racing Start Time Changed Due to Hot Weather

Racing starts at 10:30am at Worcester on Wednesday.

The jumps meeting at Worcester will start at 10:30am on Wednesday because of the very hot weather. The meeting was changed to keep the horses safe.

The weather is very hot, and the Met Office has given two warnings. One warning is for Monday and Tuesday, and the other is for Wednesday and Thursday. It might get as hot as 38C, which would be the hottest June day ever in Britain.

When it's very hot, the BHA has rules to keep the horses safe from heat stress.

Because of the hot weather warning, the BHA changed the start time of the racing at Worcester on Wednesday.

The meeting will now start at 10:30am, not 2:39pm. The races will be 30 minutes apart, and the last race will be at 1:00pm, not 5:17pm. This change will help keep everyone safe.

Only one extra race can be added if there are too many horses in one race. If this happens, the extra race will be at 10:00am.

The longer races will be first to protect the horses and the people from the heat.

The BHA said they will work with the race tracks to make sure the horses and people are safe in the hot weather.

Each racing event will be looked at separately, and the BHA will decide what to do based on the weather forecast. They will give updates as needed.

If there's a red heat warning, racing will be stopped, and trainers should not bring their horses to the track.
