Scotland's World Cup Hopes Are Fading

Scotland's coach, Steve Clarke, was very upset after they lost to Brazil.

Steve Clarke said it's too early to think about what's next for Scotland after their bad loss to Brazil. Their World Cup hopes are now in trouble. They will have to wait until the weekend to see what happens next after losing 3-0 to Brazil. Clarke was clearly upset and walked away from his interview.

The loss leaves Scotland in third place in their group in their first big tournament in almost 30 years. Vinicius Junior scored two goals, and Matheus Cunha scored another to make it 3-0.

Now, Scotland has to wait and see what happens. They might still have a small chance to move on if they get some help from other teams. But it all depends on how other teams do.

The numbers said they had a good chance to move on even if they lost by one or two goals. But losing by three goals makes it much harder for them. Right now, Scotland has a bad goal difference, which makes them vulnerable to being passed by other teams.

Clarke and his team won't know what happens until Sunday when their group is finished.

After the game, Clarke said: 'We made it hard for ourselves. We gave them the goals. We gave them the game they wanted. It's disappointing.'

When asked about the long wait, Clarke said: 'I don't think about that,' and then he walked away.

The BBC had to cut back to the studio because Clarke walked away. Later, he came back and did a full interview. He said that Scotland is probably going home.

The team captain, Andy Robertson, said: 'We started well, but then Brazil scored. We tried to fight back, but it was hard.'

Robertson also said: 'We knew Brazil was a great team. We're frustrated because we made mistakes. We can only blame ourselves. We have to wait and see what happens next.'

Robertson said: 'I don't think we did enough. But maybe I'm wrong, and we'll get another chance. The next few days will be hard, but we have to deal with it.'

Midfielder John McGinn said: 'We're very sad. We lost to a team that can punish us with good plays. We had some chances, but we didn't score.'

McGinn also said: 'The team is empty now. We have to wait and see if we can move on. It's unlikely, but we'll see. Brazil is a great team, and they punished us for our mistakes.'

McGinn said: 'We appreciate the fans' support. We know it's hard to be here, and we hope our journey isn't over yet.'

In another game, Morocco beat Haiti 4-2 and took second place in their group.
