Mashable Readers Predicted Some Big Apple News

Apple's big event, WWDC, ended on Friday, but we learned a lot on Monday.

Mashable and other sites had a game where readers could guess Apple news. Readers who guessed correctly could win a new Apple Watch. The game had three rounds. The first round was before WWDC, the second round starts on July 7, and the third round is before the iPhone event in September.

Many readers guessed some big news from WWDC correctly. One reader even guessed the new name of macOS, which is macOS 27 Golden Gate.

Apple announced a new Siri AI that will be in the next Apple operating systems. Most readers, 54 percent, guessed this correctly.

Our tech editor thought the new macOS might be called macOS 27 Woodstock, but it's actually macOS 27 Golden Gate.

Only one reader guessed the new macOS name correctly. Many readers guessed Redwood or Shasta, but some also guessed Venice, Big Bear, and Napa.

Readers could choose from four options for new Apple devices. Since there were no new devices, 23 percent of readers who chose 'none of the above' got another chance to win an Apple Watch.

Readers were very good at guessing how long WWDC would be. The average guess was 75 minutes, and many guessed 74 or 77 minutes.

Readers were split on whether new watchOS features would be announced. Most readers who said no were correct, as there were barely any new watchOS features.

The next round of the guessing game starts on July 7. Correct answers will give readers another chance to win the new Apple Watch.
