George Lucas Joins Minions Movie

George Lucas is coming back to the big screen. He's not making a Star Wars movie. He's working on a Minions film.

Lucas has a voice role in Minions and Monsters. The movie is about the Minions making a monster movie. It takes place in 1920s Hollywood, so it makes sense to have a famous director like Lucas in it.

Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri said Lucas is a fan of the Minions.

Meledandri met Lucas because Lucas loves Illumination movies, especially the Minions.

Meledandri thought it would be great to have Lucas in the new Minions movie.

Meledandri had an idea for a character and thought of Lucas. He asked the director and producers if they could get Lucas, and they were surprised but said yes.

Lucas recorded his lines in Paris with the director. Lucas might do another role in the next Minions movie.

Meledandri recently saw Lucas, who is already talking about his next role in the Minions.

The Minions movie opens on July 1.
