Make Bacon Tastier by Using Water

The bacon will be crispy and richer with just water.

I love making tea on a relaxed morning with the smell of bacon in the kitchen. But making perfect bacon is not easy. I don't like frying bacon in oil because it gets greasy and limp.

I saw a chef on social media who said he could make bacon better without extra ingredients, just using water. This sounds strange, but the idea is that the meat releases its own fat, making it crispy and flavorful.

I tried this method to see if it was just a silly internet idea, and it really makes bacon taste better.

I found it easy to cook bacon this way. I put the bacon in a cold pan, added enough water to cover it, and then heated it until the water boiled, then turned the heat down.

Bacon tastes better if you don't fry it in oil.

I waited about five to eight minutes for the water to disappear. It takes a bit longer than usual, so I made a cup of tea while waiting.

The water helps the bacon fat cook with the pink meat.

After the water was gone, the bacon started to sizzle and got crispy. I cooked it until it was as crispy as I liked, then turned off the heat and made my breakfast sandwich. The first bite was surprisingly delicious.

I looked into why this method works so well and found that bacon can burn and cook unevenly when fried in oil.

This can make the edges of the bacon charred while the middle is underdone, making it chewy instead of crispy.

Adding water lets the bacon cook more slowly, so the fat can melt evenly, making every part of the bacon crispy.

After the water disappears, the bacon starts to get crispy.

I tried the water method, and it takes a bit longer, but the result is worth it - the bacon is golden, crispy, and has a great smoky flavor.

The bacon doesn't have that greasy feel anymore, and I don't think I can cook it in oil again because it tastes so much better with just a little water.
