Ryanair Changes Baggage Charge Rule

Ryanair will change its £65 baggage charge rule to give staff more money for catching oversized bags.

The CEO, Michael O'Leary, will increase rewards for employees who charge passengers for big luggage.

The CEO said that after reports of staff getting rewards for catching oversized bags, fewer passengers are bringing big bags.

Staff get €2.50 for each big bag they find. They get this money for each bag. Staff get money for finding big bags. Staff are paid for their work.

Passengers with big bags must pay €75 extra.

The change could give workers €3.50 for each passenger they catch. This was raised from €1.50 in November 2025. The new bonus is higher. The bonus was changed recently.

As the numbers fall, the commission rate may increase from €2.50 to €3.50. The rate may go up. The change will happen soon.
