People often think of Pembrokeshire's Saundersfoot or Tenby when they think of the Welsh coast.

But a lesser-known place has been given a top award.

New Quay in Ceredigion is the best seaside town in the UK.

New Quay has a main sandy beach with kayaks and sailboats, and two other beaches, Traeth Gwyn and Cei Bach, for those who want something different. The town has Victorian houses and a nice harbour.

New Quay is small but fun, with boat trips to see dolphins and seals, and beautiful sunsets. It's a great place to relax and have fish and chips.

Cardigan Bay, where New Quay is, has many dolphins that you can see from the harbour wall in the summer. The bay is also home to other animals like seals and sunfish.

New Quay has three different beaches: Harbour Beach, Traeth Gwyn, and Cei Bach, each with its own special features.

The town is on the Wales Coast Path, which is a great hiking trail that goes along the coast. You can walk north to Aberaeron or south to Aberporth.
