I'm British but live in Benidorm - tourists should avoid 3 key areas

Harry Poulton moved to Benidorm when he was 18 after a fun holiday with friends.

Benidorm is a popular holiday spot in Spain with around five million visitors each year. Harry first visited Benidorm when he was 18 and now thinks moving there was the best decision he ever made.

Living in Benidorm is not all about nice beaches and sunny weather. Harry wants to tell tourists about some areas to avoid. He shared this on his TikTok account, warning about three places that are not safe.

The first place on his list is the 'Yellow Brick Road', a busy area with many bars and restaurants.

Harry said: 'The Yellow Brick Road is a path that leads to the Rio Park. It can be a bit dangerous, especially at night, because of pickpocketing. But during the day, it's usually fine.'

The second place on his list is Pueblo Alley, near the Hotel Pueblo and Levante Beach. Harry said: 'This area is not safe, especially at night, because of pickpockets and other problems. You can avoid it by taking a different route.' He also mentioned 'Mugger's Alley', which is known for pickpocketing and other issues.

Benidorm is a town in Spain, known for its tourism and tall hotels.

Harry warned about new taxi scams and advised people to be careful and cross the road to avoid them.

On a Facebook page, someone warned about an area near the Hotel Flash and the 'SATE' building, saying it's not safe at night because of robbers and pickpockets.

They advised people to stay together and walk in front of the 'SATE' building, not behind it, and to keep their valuables safe.

Despite talking about the bad areas, Harry loves Benidorm and thinks many people have the wrong idea about it.

Since moving to Benidorm, Harry's living costs have gone down, with monthly expenses between £500 and £1,000, including bills.

Harry said: 'If you live in Benidorm, you'll understand why it's a great place. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.'
