The song is about lost love and features Carol Kim's expressive voice and sad saxophone solos by Amari Ansari. Saigon Jazz Revival is a project that brings back Vietnam's old jazz music and mixes it with New Orleans style, connecting Vietnamese and other music lovers.

The video was filmed at the November show in New Orleans. Photos were taken by Kim Ha.

Many old recordings from before 1975 are lost or hard to find. Finding them is like looking into the past. The music in Saigon back then was special because it had many different cultural influences, similar to New Orleans music today, says Marion Hoàng Ngọc Hill, the project's founder.

'Tại Vắng Anh' was performed by Saigon Jazz Revival and Carol Kim. The video is on Saigon Jazz Revival's YouTube channel.

'Tại Vắng Anh' is the second song from Carol Kim's concert to be released, after her version of 'Đón Xuân'. Hill says he had a strong emotional reaction to 'Đón Xuân' when he first heard it. The song was recorded in Saigon in 1971 and has a mix of New Orleans jazz and Vietnamese music. It even has a Latin section in the middle, which is very cool.

Marion Hoàng Ngọc Hill is the founder of Saigon Jazz Revival.

Hill found 'Đón Xuân' while working on a film with her jazz musician friends, which led to Saigon Jazz Revival and Carol Kim performing in New Orleans. Carol Kim will also perform in Chicago on August 29. Other artists, like Brian Bui and Đồng Lan, will give summer workshops. The group plans to release a full album in 2028 with many performances.

Carol Kim will have more shows, and the group is working on new music. They want to share Vietnam's old jazz with the world.
