Scientists discover the brightest quasar, J0529‑4351

The object is named J0529‑4351 and was discovered with a large telescope in Chile. It is a quasar, a very bright and energetic type of object.
Inside J0529‑4351 is the fastest‑growing black hole ever observed. This black hole is growing faster than any other known black hole.
The quasar is 12 billion light‑years away from Earth. Its extreme brightness and rapid growth make scientists wonder how such huge black holes could form only a few billion years after the Big Bang.
