Snowbirds' Last Grey Cup Flight Ends 55-Year Era

The iconic Canadian Forces Snowbirds will make their final performance at the 113th Grey Cup in Calgary on Nov. 15.

The team had originally planned its final show for the California Capital Airshow in Sacramento on Oct. 10‑11, but the flight was moved to the Grey Cup.

The Snowbirds are officially 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and they have flown the CT‑114 Tutor aircraft since 1971.

The CT‑114 jets will be retired after the 2026 season, with new aircraft expected in the early 2030s.

Major‑General Denis O’Reilly, deputy commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, said, "As we close out the Snowbirds’ 55th anniversary, I want to thank all Canadians for celebrating our team over this past season."

The team previously performed at three Grey Cups – the 101st, 106th and 109th – and this will be their fourth appearance.
