Waymo Car Runs Over Firework

Waymo passengers in San Francisco had a scary ride when their car drove over a lit firework on July 4th.

The riders filmed the incident from the back seat as they approached an intersection where people were lighting fireworks.

The car drove into the firework. A passenger, Rose Peterson, told a local news station that it was very frightening.

Rose said, 'My fiancé and I were talking, and we realized something bad could have happened to us or the people around us. It was very scary.'

One of the passengers said, 'Are we on fire, dude?' after the car drove over the firework.

A Waymo spokesperson said no one was hurt and the car was not damaged. The company also checked on the rider's well-being.

The spokesperson said, 'We want to keep our riders safe and earn the trust of the communities where we work. We take situations like this seriously and will learn from them.'

In another part of San Francisco, some Waymo cars stopped working due to heavy traffic. The drivers had to wait for hours for the cars to be towed.
