Why the iPad Pro Still Can’t Replace Laptops

When paired with the optional Magic Keyboard, the iPad Pro turns into a thin, silent, touchscreen device that feels much like a laptop.

Raymond Wong, a former Mashable contributor, wrote in his 2018 review that iPadOS still lags behind macOS for file manipulation and many basic tasks.

Many users are already accustomed to laptops and are reluctant to change their established workflow.

Because of the software gap and entrenched habits, the iPad Pro remains popular for media consumption and light work, but it has not replaced laptops as the primary work machine.
