0:00Sunday night in Hanoi, one of Vietnam's
0:02biggest AI hackathons has crowned its
0:04winners. But, the real prize being
0:06handed out here is bigger than any
0:08trophy. It's an early bet on the young
0:11minds who may one day decide whether
0:13Vietnam merely uses AI or builds it. Our
0:16reporter was there as the results came
0:18in.
0:22>> After a 48-hour hackathon, the AI
0:25Innovation Challenge 2026 finally
0:27announced the winner. And here we have
0:29the N GBT team with the initiative
0:32called Logic. An initiative that applies
0:35AI in structuring Vietnamese legal
0:37system into an easy-to-navigate language
0:40base. First of all, congratulations on
0:42this achievement. Can you share with us
0:45how you feel right now?
0:49>> First of all, I feel incredibly
0:51emotional and grateful to my teammates.
0:54We've been through an intense 48 hours
0:56together, and I'm really proud of
0:58everything we've achieved as a team.
1:04>> Can you guys share with us the most
1:06outstanding feature from the initiative
1:08Logic, right?
1:13>> Our solution is to represent Vietnam's
1:15legal system as a graph-based model,
1:17making it easier for citizens,
1:19businesses, and government agencies to
1:21access accurate, up-to-date legal
1:23information as regulations continue to
1:25evolve.
1:29>> Once again, congratulations. And their
1:31journey doesn't stop at this
1:33competition, but will continue in the
1:35regional and international base.
1:43>> It's a solution used by students, but
1:45aimed at a problem that touches every
1:47citizens and every business in the
1:49country. It's a sign of just how far
1:51this year's contestants push beyond the
1:53classroom. For the judges tasked [music]
1:55with picking a winner from a field as
1:57strong, the job was anything but easy.
2:02>> This year's contestants were very strong
2:04and competition was fierce, which made
2:06it very difficult for the judging panel
2:08to assess and decide who should be the
2:09winner.
2:12>> The kind of endurance is exactly what
2:14organizers say they are investing in.
2:17For the organizers and investors, this
2:19is about identifying the engineers, the
2:21entrepreneurs, and the problem solvers
2:23who could go on to build the technology
2:25Vietnam will depend on for decades to
2:27come.
2:29>> We are going to provide them with
2:31mentorship, with exposure, and all of
2:34the potential investor and resources. We
2:39are going to
2:41arrange for them to work directly with
2:44industry leader from like Meta, from
2:48Google, from Yahoo, from all the big
2:51tech in Silicon Valley.
2:53>> One team walked away with the trophy,
2:55but the goal was never just to create a
2:57playground for students. [music]
2:58It was always to build the next
3:00generation of Vietnam's AI leaders, real
3:03products, real value, and real
3:04ownership.
